The Challenge

KMS Air Conditioning was asked to improve the temperature control in a dedicated home office at a residential property in London.

The homeowner, a self-employed sole trader, used the room throughout the working week. During summer, heat building up upstairs made the office uncomfortable, while portable heaters provided inconsistent and inefficient warmth during the colder months.

The Solution

After assessing the room and how it was used, KMS recommended a quiet, energy-efficient wall-mounted air conditioning system capable of providing both heating and cooling throughout the year.

The indoor unit was positioned to maintain an even temperature without directing uncomfortable draughts towards the desk. The outdoor condenser and connecting pipework were installed discreetly to keep their visual impact to a minimum.

KMS also provided a detailed VAT invoice, allowing the homeowner to discuss reclaiming the eligible business proportion of the VAT with their accountant.

The Result

The installation was completed within one day with minimal disruption to the property. The homeowner now has a comfortable working environment throughout the year, with simple control over the temperature, operating mode and daily schedule.

As a VAT-registered sole trader, they were also able to explore reclaiming the VAT associated with the business use of the installation, helping to reduce the overall cost.
